Pro tip… Winter Retreat is THE best way to connect with others from UGA RUF. That’s because it’s just US! This is the retreat that most incoming freshmen, transfers, and new students credit with helping them feel like part of the RUF family.
We’ll spend the weekend together in the mountains of Western, NC full of fellowship, the great outdoors, and excellent teaching. Cost is $110 and covers your 5 meals, lodging, recreation and speaker fees. Scholarship help is there for the asking, so please don’t let money be an obstacle to you joining us.
CLICK HERE TO REGISTER! Deadline to signup is Tuesday night, 1/22 at 11pm.
What’s a “Sprint Series”? They’re short term, staff-led, on-campus groups that commit to spending 5 weeks studying a particular discipleship topic together and putting what we learn into practice. Groups meet for 5 consecutive weeks for 1 hour at a specified day/time/location (usually Tate or MLC).
To promote deeper relational connections and a richer learning environment, groups are limited to 10 students and weekly participation each of the 5-weeks is expected of group members in order to join.
If you’re not in a schedule or season of life that will allow you to be present and engaged at least 4 out of 5 weeks, we love you (!)… but you’ll wanna wait to join a group until you can make that commitment. Check out our lineup of sprint series this semester or check out one of our other community groups!
Freshmen Fellowship is a community of UGA and UNG freshmen that's easy to slip into at any point in the semester, connect with other freshmen, build deeper friendships, hear a thought-provoking message from the Bible, and share the ups and downs of the semester with people who care.
Freshmen Fellowship meets in TATE CENTER Room #473. It’s the glass-walled room at the top of the main staircase in Tate (right above where the Tate Barberritos is). People start arriving at 8pm and it wraps up at 9:30pm. Learn more here.
RUF’s community groups are the best doorway into the RUF community—regardless of whether you’re a follower of Jesus or not. They’re a place to meet new friends, deepen friendships, share life, consider new ideas, and see God’s word come alive in your life.
We’ve made it easy for you to become a part of a community group in RUF! Simply check out the list of groups offered this semester, find a group that meets at a time you’re free, and fill out the brief form. A leader will get in touch with you to offer a ride and share more details. And you’re always welcome to just show up, as well!
RUF Large Group is our big weekly gathering when we come together to worship, pray, hear a thought-provoking and practically applied message from the Bible, and hangout. Want to get a sneak peak at Large Group before you come? Check out more here.
There’s free parking at/all around Redeemer’s building so use any spot you find. You can ignore the ParkMobile signs, parking during RUF events is free! When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by some friendly faces and a room full of people who’ll be eager to meet you. Worship kicks off at 7:30p and we’re all wrapped up by 8:45pm.
RUF is hosting all of our UGA community for a Christmas service and celebration at the UGA Chapel on North Campus. We’ll sing familiar carols of Christmas, fellowship, and hear a brief Christmas message from the Bible. This event is for our whole community not simply RUF, so please share this news with your friends and classmates and plan to come as a group!
Invite your friends and come join RUF at Lake Herrick’s lakeside pavilion for a fun night of hanging out, sports, a square dance (!), and a chili cook off. Free parking is right next to the lake in the IM Fields Parking Deck. Bring your friends and come join us.
This year’s Fall Conference (FallCon) is happening the weekend of October 18th at Woodlands Camp in North Georgia. It's the perfect time to get out of town with new (and old) friends to deepen relationships, hear excellent and thought-provoking teaching, and enjoy the outdoors. And yes! Of course you’ll be able to watch the UGA-Auburn game with 150 of your new friends! Registration is now open and will close October 11th. Check here for a registration link (will be posted in mid-Sept).

Let us know!
Our favorite event of the week—FRIDAY FIELD DAY! We gather on the UGA Intramural field right across the street from the IM Fields parking deck entrance—Field #5. RUF people are out there every Friday from 3-5:30ish, drop by whenever you get out of class and we’ll add you to one of the teams. We alternate each week between a bunch of different activities: Frisbee, kickball, angle ball, etc. You’re also welcome to bring stuff for whatever sport/game you wanna play and get a game started. OR… just come hangout… we always have a sizable picnic-blanket crew!
Greek Rush is on pause, you’ve got your first day of class under your belt, and you probably need a little help getting to know Athens and building new friendships. So this is the perfect event for you! RUF is taking over Molly’s Coffee (about a 5-minute drive from the freshmen dorms) Thursday night of Welcome Week… and there’s an open-tab! There will be some chill time to hangout, get to know people, and then we’ll gear up for a few rounds of UGA/Athens trivia. It’ll be a fun way to start learning about your amazing new city and school. RIDES ARE AVAILABLE, we’d love to come pick you up. Just let us know
Join us as we kick off this year’s Freshmen Fellowship with a huge taco party at Redeemer Church in downtown Athens (165 Pulaski Street). Parents’ Lunch is a BLAST! It’s a great opportunity for your parents to get a first-hand taste of RUF, meet the staff and all your closest friends, and hear about ways they can be invested in our ministry here in Athens even from a distance. Our main aim is to have fun, though. We’ll enjoy a big meal together, do some “Are You Smarter Than a College Kid” trivia… and then turn the tables with some “Are You Smarter Than a 1980’s College Kid”.
Students, parents, and siblings are all invited to join us for the lunch on Saturday, March 23rd. Lunch is $10/plate and you can pay when you show up. You must RSVP to attend so we can ensure space and food for everyone. To RSVP, click here.
There’s free parking at and all around Redeemer’s building so use any spot you find. When you arrive, you’ll make your way to the Lower Warehouse (signage and friendly faces will guide you.) Lunch will begin at 12pm, and we’ll be wrapped up by 2:00.
Join us every Thursday from 12-2pm for lunch in Bolton’s upstairs area near the long tables. Look for Grace, Eliot, and Felicity, they’ll get there a little early to grab a table. Drop in whenever you’re free and make new friends… or bring your friends with you!

Not sure where you’ll be going on the first day of class? Bring your schedule and meet some upperclassmen RUF students at the Arch! We’ll walk you to your buildings and help you get to know your way around campus. If you have questions about bus routes, which advisers are best, tips for certain professors, how to survive 8ams… then come prepared to ask away! We’ll meet AT THE UGA ARCH (downtown—any UGA bus line will take you here from the dorms) at 10a and will walk from there. We’ll grab lunch at Bolton Dining Hall on campus afterwards.
God’s word is meant to be read and applied in community… not in isolation. We need others to help us grow and connect the dots of God’s work in our lives. Simply check out the list of groups offered this spring find a group that meets at a time you’re free, and fill out the brief form. A leader will get in touch with you to offer a ride and share more details. And you’re always welcome to just show up, as well!

Save this date and plan to join us for RUF’s annual Friendsgiving Potluck! Bring a favorite side dish or dessert of yours along with plenty of buddies; the more the merrier! Friendsgiving is as much about meeting new friends as enjoying a night with old ones.
