Night at the Pit

The event

Our campus minister describes this night as “a taste of heaven.” Everyone comes together to hang out outside around a fire pit, and then our hired contra dance caller teaches the whole group how to dance together. You may be reading this and thinking, “Dancing is not for me. Should I still come?” I was in your shoes last year and was very skeptical about attending a dancing event as a non-dancer. I have good news for you: yes, you can still come and not dance! And if you have never danced before, contra dancing is the perfect place to start. For both our staff and students, this was one of the highlights of RUF’s year.
